We are all influenced by our surroundings. From my shack I can smell salt air and hear the surf. I look at the seaweed and shells washed up along the shore: shapes and patterns evolve into ideas for work.
I work at one remove rather than en plein air. This allows me to develop my response to what I see rather than just copy it.
I have used various materials, chasing and repoussé techniques, hollow forming and different surface finishes to create the work shown here.
